My Week In Photos // 1

I've decided to switch things up just a bit and start sharing photos every Monday of my everyday life.  I recently FINALLY upgraded to a smart phone and love that I can take and edit photos on the go!  This also means that you can now find me on Instagram (which you can check out HERE)!

Random photo of me + the most awesomely cute cell phone case that I bought from THIS SHOP!

Blue Is The Warmest Color!  Finally!  I haven't watched it yet (hopefully I can fit it in this week!), but I've been really excited about this film for a really long time.  Also, I finished The Shining!  I just started Doctor Sleep, and I'm totally loving it :)

I was soooo bummed out this weekend when I found out that The Grand Budapest Hotel wasn't showing at a theater near us!  Ughhh!  We did go see the new 300 movie though and it was pretty awesome.  I really didn't like the first one when it originally came out.  My 'then' boyfriend took me to see it and I didn't know anything about it.  I do appreciate stylized films now though and really loved this new one.  Speaking of stylized films...have you seen the preview for the new Sin City?  Put simply...it looks bad ass.  Also...I've been eating healthier since the start of my weight loss challenge and have been making breakfast smoothies every now and then.  This one contained soy milk, mango, banana, kiwi, pineapple, and spinach.  YUM!

I can't believe my hair has gotten so long!  I rocked the pixie and bob cuts for so long (and even the shaved head look) for so long.  I thought I'd never grow it out this long again.  I'm getting the itch to chop again though, so that might be something you'll see in a few months.  If I do, I'll miss being able to throw my hair up into a bun.

It seems like no matter what, my nails never look consistent as far as length goes.  One ends up getting chipped or something and then I chop it off along with the rest of them.  I actually managed to keep them all fairly well kept though last week though!  The photo on the left is Light A Candle and the photo on the left is The Next CEO.

I'm pet-sitting my friends Ball Python Oliver for a few months!  I think I'll probably always have a snake in the house.  I love 'em!  Brando has been such a sweetie lately.  He's always a sweetie, but he's been extra affectionate and I love it!

What have you been up to lately?

  1. Great job on healthy choices! I've been pretty proud of eating healthier this last week too! I've avoided soda like it was the plague-that-would-start-the-zombie-apocalypse! I've been wanting to chop off my hair again too, but like you said, throwing it up in a bun/ponytail is so nice!
And that is a really cute phone case!

    1. Thanks! I think I've been doing fairly well with my challenge, but I think my biggest problem is not eating enough at breakfast-I'm constantly feeling hungry. I like your zombie reference btw!

  3. I love your troll iPhone case. XD
DON'T CUT YOUR HAIR! You'll regret it. I miss being able to throw mine into a bun.
Honestly, I cut mine after my weight loss journey because I already had confidence in myself.
Your nails look super pretty. c: I know what you mean about length, haha. Maybe it's because I don't use enough hand moisturizer.
My cousin has a snake, and his daughter brought it in a play bucket downstairs for my grandma to see when she was watching her. Lol!

P.S. I keep trying to follow you through GFC but it always has the error page pop up. :(

  5. I had the same thing happen this weekend with The Grand Budapest Hotel. I was so excited to see it, but I guess it hasn't been released near me yet. I read The Shining for the first time back in October and adored it, definitely one of the better Stephen King books.

    1. I was so bummed out! I can't believe it wasn't a wide-release. I know it'll be here at some point, but limited release can be so frustrating!!!
I'm so happy I read The Shining. It's always been one of my favorite horror films, but after reading the book...I wish they had kept Stephen Kings ending-it was great!

  7. TGBH isn't playing by me, either. :( Guess I'll just wait around for the Frozen Dvd. :)

  8. Smart phones are the bomb, how did we ever live without them? Although I think I would kill for a Nokia 3330... x

  9. I have been looking forward to watching Blue is the Warmest Color too, but the controversy surrounding the making of it kinda bums me out... and I've put it off a few times cause I know it's going to make me cry.

The new Sin City movie DOES look so awesome! I was afraid, however, that Miller would be directing this one - the horror! So, I looked it up. Annnnd although he is co-director, at least Rodriguez is back.

Isn't cutting your hair so liberating! Pixie cut is a thing of beauty. Your hair is gorgeous, by the way. Are you thinking of donating it when you cut it?

I feel so left out that I too haven't see Frozen yet.

    1. I've considered it. Even to the point of participating in the St Baldrick's Foundation and shaving my head again!

    2. I wish I had a pet snake but they're illegal here, bleh. So cool though!

I liked the new 300 movie because of Artemisia. Though they've been making the Persians look really pathetic when it comes to fighting (not to mention strangely mystical and dark) but I understand it's all for the story. I was rooting for them the whole time in this movie haha, but when Queen Gorgo started butchering people -- oh my gosh. I love her.
